NCSC Curriculum and Instruction Resources Available

The ultimate goal of the NCSC project is to ensure that students with the most significant cognitive disabilities achieve increasingly higher academic outcomes and leave high school ready for post-secondary options. NCSC has developed curriculum/instructional resources based on Common Core State Standards (CCSS) that can be used to support that goal. We have posted the resources on a public wiki (https://wiki.ncscpartners.org), created to host the materials that educators will need to deliver instruction aligned to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The materials are grouped in three categories, two of which are ready for use:

  • Curriculum Resources - What to Teach (reference materials created to reinforce educators' understanding of curriculum content) and
  • Instructional Resources - How to Teach (reference materials created to support classroom teaching).

More resources will be added in the next months.  The third component will become active over the next year: Classroom Solutions (solutions or accommodations created by educators and shared). Please use the orientation to NCSC resources to support your use of the materials, which you can find here http://www.ncscpartners.org/resources-cop-presentations. In the near future, additional professional development modules will be posted on these pages.
